Fourth Season Tribute to Cobra Kai
Fans were immediately drawn to a homage displayed during the final credits of Cobra Kai Season 4.
Episode 7’s final minutes featured an “In Memoriam”, a tribute to Albert Omstead, which mentions his name.
A tribute segment called “In Memoriam” was included at the end of the pilot episode. It was dedicated to Ed Asner, the actor who played Sid Weinberg (Johnny Lawrence’s stepfather).
Who is Albert Omstead on Cobra Kai?
Viewers can see Albert Omstead’s name several times during the final credits.
Omstead wasn’t an actor on Cobra Kai’s set, but he did work on the production’s Camera Department and Electrical Departments.
After a freak accident at his home, he died on July 19, 2021.

According to his family, Albert Omstead’s unexpected death occurred unassisted.
Omstead was standing next to a retaining wall at his home when the wall collapsed and killed him.
Scott Wachtel, Scott’s brother-in-law, said to news outlet 11 Alive that the whole thing collapsed right in front of him.
He said, “The garage door was shut and there was a van parked here in front of the garage. So he couldn’t run that direction (towards the garage), but he couldn’t run this route (away from the garage) because the wall was crumbling over here.
Are there any children of Albert Omstead?
Albert Omstead was married to four stepchildren and one biological son.
Omstead’s brother-in-law also shared this with 11 Alive: “He supported them and put their needs before his own, whether it was financially or emotionally.”
Wachtel continued, saying, “Had he gone there five minutes earlier, or five minutes later,” our world would be completely different right now.
Cobra Kai dedicated the seventh season’s fourth episode to Albert Omstead, in his honor.
